Hi, I’m Justine 👋

I’m the person behind Just Another Idea, and if I’m being totally accurate, the name pretty much sums up how this business works because I’m forever saying, “Right, I’ve got another idea…” 😂

This isn’t a big company with a massive team and fancy offices. It’s a small UK business built from ideas, late nights, a ridiculous amount of creativity and a genuine love of making things people actually want and use.

What started with creating personalised gifts has grown into a bit of everything now. You’ll find colouring books, planners, tear-off pads, journals, gifts, mugs, kids’ activities, SEN and neurodiversity resources, self-regulation products, wellbeing bits and plenty of products for mums who are just trying to survive the day with a coffee and their sanity still hanging on ☕😂

Why I started Just Another Idea

A huge reason this business became what it is today is my own family.

I’m a mum of three and all three of my children are neurodiverse in their own ways. Between us, family life includes chronic OCD and anxiety, ADHD, autism and mental health difficulties. Life is definitely not straightforward, and I know first-hand how exhausting it can be trying to find things that actually help, feel relatable and don’t make you feel like you’re reading something written for a completely different family.

A lot of the SEN, emotions, communication, self-regulation and mental health products I create come from real life. They’re often things I’ve needed myself, things my children would actually use, or ideas that have come from conversations with other parents who get it.

I don’t pretend one product can fix everything, because real life doesn’t work like that. But if something I make can make a tricky morning a little easier, help a child explain how they’re feeling, give a teen something that feels less clinical, or just make a parent feel a little more understood, then that matters to me.

Real life, not Pinterest-perfect life

I’m a mum, I know family life isn’t always neat, calm and organised, and I know how hard it can be to find products that actually feel relevant to real people.

That’s why you’ll find things here that are helpful, funny, comforting, sweary, practical and sometimes a mixture of all five.

I’m especially passionate about creating products for children, teens and families who might need a little extra support. Things around emotions, communication, self-regulation, ADHD, SEN and everyday overwhelm are a big part of Just Another Idea.

But I also firmly believe the adults deserve things too, because sometimes mum doesn’t need another inspirational quote. She needs a notebook that says exactly what she’s thinking 😂

Small business really does mean small business

When you order from Just Another Idea, there isn’t some giant warehouse at the other end.

There’s me, creating products, designing new ideas, packing orders, answering messages, running the website and usually thinking about three new products while I’m supposed to be finishing the first one.

Some products are made to order, some are personalised and some are ready to go, but everything is chosen or created with the same aim:

to make things that feel useful, affordable and a little bit different from everything else out there.

And finally...
